I bought a small green house to grow vegetables in the Winter , What do you think , I am going to put 3 raised beds in side on 3 walls. And plant cabbage, broccoli, carrots, maybe some greens? I have put my garden to bed covered it up.
Rob Westley
Rob Westley 3 oy oldin
Sandra Westley I think it’s a case of you need more chicken manure on those beds in the tunnel, it needs loads of nutrients in the soil to grow lush, your chicken manure is just ideal.

I was just thinking that those feed bags might work well in between the rows of your garden. Covered with mulch, I think it might be a good weed barrier. Hmmmmm.

Put the extra row cover that Jason cut off over the stuff in the greenhouse. It'll help protect your plants overnight.

If your 1 1/2 dozen hens are only laying 2-4 eggs a day your eggs are turning out costly even of free range organic🤔🧐

Try some coffee grounds around those plants in your tunnel/greenhouse. It usually worked for me, only a few really determined crawlers that would go across that. Since my spouse drinks coffee everyday, I would just save the grounds in a ceramic container and use as I needed it. Hope that helps. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.

Great tip on finding a bulk feed store. Hopefully, we can find one close by where it is not a great deal of a drive to go get some items. Or just have it delivered one. Thanks for sharing.

Are you adding fresh, new compost to your garden beds before planting?........cow and chicken manure is a necessity for vegetable garden beds.

My grandfather had a greenhouse kinda like yours in the 90s with the same problem of pipes coming apart. We used pegs of wood epoxied in the joint

Jason and Lorraine, Some winter garden hints- I'm in SE VA so it's a tad.warmer.here but this works for me. 1. Hang a few strands of incandescent (not led, not as warm) clear Christmas lights looped down, in the greenhouse for warmth. They work a bit. Some are using them in low tunnels all the way up in the NE w success. String an extension cord if you need to. 2. The bugs should go soon due to temps but organically it helps to spray Dr Bronners Peppermint soap and peppermint essential oil to repel them. 3. Just cut some maybe 2-3 feet pieces of pvc pipe and duck tape them above and below the broken parts, or any places you want to reinforce, to help winter snow load this year. Good luck w your winter harvest.

Just out of curiosity, if you sewed the agribond back together and maybe dribbled some superglue on the seam, would it hold?

Mae a greengouse out of livestock pannels like your chicken runs. Buils a short 2 foot wall ro bend them over. Cover with clear plastic. Mine has worked great

Hey guys, just wanted to say hello and God bless. You guys have inspired my fiancee and I to go out and get some land and just give it a shot. You give such great instructions and reasoning behind what you do and it really helped us solidify our decision. Maybe one of these days we will come across country and say hey!!
