Jason and Lorraine. In 2016 we sold most of our belongings and left the city in southern California to start a small homestead in the mountains of North Carolina. Broth from poultry does't need that long. Half an hour is enough and the meat will still be good to eat.

Lorraine, great video and thanks for the recipe. I have not used turmeric before and have not sliced my garlic as you did. Recently I watched videos on freeze drying bone broth to store as powder. Thanks for posting your process. I've had it turkey carcass in the freezer since Thanksgiving, and I just couldn't summon the motivation to make the stock. Thanks to your video, I was able to make the stock today, it's cooling overnight, then I'll aim the day and can tomorrow.

I made turkey stock the day after Thanksgiving, in two batches. I was out of sea salt, which I normally use, so I used regular salt for the first batch, then bought sea salt for the second batch. Guess what, they both taste the same. So, how can sea salt be the most important ingredient in making turkey stock? I think the turkey was the most important ingredient.

We bought 1 turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. After we bought it I found out 2 different stores we go to had deals where you buy certain items you get a free turkey. I cut up those 2 birds, boiled them, removed the meat, put in fridge, then put the bones from them plus the ones from dinner into the broth, boiled a couple more hours. Strained. Reheated turkey in some of the broth. I canned 36 pints of turkey in broth and 20 quarts of stock.

Yes, 10# pressure . 20min pints and 25 minutes for quarts. Then it will last for along time.

My husband and I tried the pumpkin chili. It was so yummy. I made my own pumpkin puree. My husband said you can't tell it was made with pumpkin and the pumpkin add that hint of natural sweetness. Thank you for sharing your recipes with us.

I just did this last month! Smoked a 28lb turkey for 8+ hours. After we ate our fill ended up with 6qts of canned turkey meat and 6qts of broth :)

Hi Loriane! My package arrived on Wednesday, the 9th! I love this oil, it has revitalized my feet with just one application. It also makes my elbows feel much better. I've been doing this with our Thanksgiving and Christmas turkeys for some time now. Best way to use every part of the bird, and it tastes fantastic. Between that and homemade chicken stock that I pressure can, we haven't had to buy store bought chicken stock in years!
